TATE TOBKIN - Partner/Personal Trainer
Tate graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor's degree in Human Performance and Fitness. He competed in the javelin for the Bison and was a three time All-American. Tate moved to Chicago in the summer of 2001 for an internship in community wellness and fitness at the Leo Burnett company. He started personal training in the fall of 2001 and became partner/owner of Fitness Revolution in June of 2008. He enjoys working with all levels of clients and believes in well-balanced exercise routines that focus on proper posture and corrective exercise movements.
Tate is Level 3 certified through Athletic Republic and was honored with the Master Trainer award by Athletic Republic in the Summer of 2011.
MIKE FREY - Partner/Personal Trainer
Mike graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Exercise Science. He has been training for the past 6 years. Mike continues to play soccer and enjoys golfing, he has run the Chicago Marathon four times. Mike has trained several Division 1 athletes over his career.
JOHN "Sensei" SITT - Partner/Personal Trainer
Since 1999 John has successfully trained and treated clients ranging in the ages of 8 to 88. Athletes, housewives, students, businessmen, etc. have been thoroughly satisfied with John's style of effectively transforming every client to meet or exceed their goals and expectations. John likes to design workouts that focus on balance, agility, flexibility, power, and anaerobic conditioning.
John has served as a Director of Personal Training, Director of Fitness, Director of Aquatics, Corp Fitness Specialist, Club Manager, and professional MMA fight trainer and manager, at a variety of athletic clubs and fitness centers throughout Chicagoland and Wisconsin.
John has also successfully applied post-rehabilitation and physical therapy/fitness principles to sports injuries and accident disabilities.
He is a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, Certified Sports Performance Nutritionist, Certified Fitness Therapist, Certified Spinning Instructor, Certified Pilates Mat Level 1 and Certified and ranked Kickboxing and MMA Instructor.
TONY ROBINSON - Partner/Personal Trainer
Tony is the most tenured trainer at Fitness Revolution. With over 15 years of training experience, Tony brings a variety of knowledge and expertise to the training table. He started his life in the fitness sector as an amateur power lifter and body builder and transitioned to personal training in 1996. It is etimated that Tony has logged over 32,000 hours of personal training.
Tony is known for effectively getting the most out of every client he meets and trains. Tony has a keen ability to relate to all as of his clients and design a workout regimine that is best suited for each individual.
CHRISSY PUPELIS - Personal Trainer and Certified Pilates Instructor
Chrissy has trained a variety of Clients and athletes for over 11 years. As a former All-American and Level 10 gymnast, Chrissy likes to challenge clients with workouts focusing on core training and balance. She also likes incorporating pilates-type movements into her workouts.
Chrissy is a Certified Pilates Mat and Equipment Instructor as well as Athletic Republic Level 3 Certified.
DAVE SLYKHUIS - Director of Operations-Athletic Republic
Dave graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Kinesiology and Health. He has trained athletes of all ages and has been with Athletic Republic for 3 years. Before coming to Winnetka, he directed an Athletic Republic facility for 2 years in Morris, IL. While attending college he completed his internship with Acceleration Iowa in Des Moines, IA. Dave enjoys playing football and working out, he is currenty training to compete in olympic weightlifting.
MICHAEL MAJESTY - Director of Hockey Training-Athletic Republic
Michael was born and raised in Chicago, IL where he grew up playing ice hockey. He finished his youth hockey career with the Park Ridge Express and went on to play 2 years of Junior Hockey. Michael went to Western New England College where he graduated with a degree in Sport Management. While at WNEC, he played 4 years of NCAA D-3 hockey where he had All-Rookie Honors and was the team MVP during his freshman and senior seasons. He is currently the coach for the Park Ridge Midget Express and the Niles Nighthawks JV teams.
Michael is a USA Hockey Level 3 coach and works with all the hockey athletes at the Northbrook facility.
RYAN NEWMAN
Ryan is a part-time trainer for Athletic Republic Sports performance training. Ryan played his high school football at Holy Cross in River Grove (Guerin College Prep) He was an All-Conference QB and SS there. He originally signed with the Air Force Academy to play option QB, but finished up and graduated at Ripon College (WI). While in college he began playing Rugby and he currently plays part time with the Chicago Griffins Rugby Club.
Ryan is an Alumni of the Athletic Republic Training Program where he completed levels 1 and 2 of the program. He has always had a strong interest in fitness and training and loves working with all athletes. He is a Level 2 certified trainer with Athletic Republic.
Ryan also works for NCSA, a recruiting organization where he guides and educates potential football recruits through the recruiting process.
MATT CONVERSA - Owner Firehouse Strength and Fitness
Matt is the owner of Firehouse Strength and Fitness. He currently is employed full time with Elmwood Park Fire Department. He works part-time at Fitness Revolution as a Personal Trainer. Matt has a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois and is NASM certified.
